TWO Leigh Centurions players are facing trial by video disciplinary action following the promotion favourites' bruising victory at second placed Carlisle last Sunday.
Centre David Hill and scrum-half Chris Wilkinson have both been ordered to appear before the RL Disciplinary Panel in Leeds tonight to answer charges of foul play.
Hill is accused of punching when a fight broke out between Leigh's Safraz Patel and Carlisle skipper Gary Charlton.
Wilkinson has been charged with a late challenge on Charlton in a separate incident.
Both cases were put on report by match official Paul Lee of Tyldesley and referred to Greg McCallum, the League's Director of Referees, who has decided the two players have cases to answer.
"Hill's actions were totally out of character," says Leigh chairman Mick Higgins who will speak on behalf of both players tonight.
"He has been a model professional for the best part of 10 years. He's never been sent off and I can't even recall him being sin-binned. What sparked his retaliatory action was Charlton's use of the elbow on young Patel.
"I just hope the Disciplinary Panel view the whole incident and not just take things in isolation."
The Leeds hearing will delay coach Keith Latham's team selection but both Paul Blackburn and Scott Hilton have been put on stand-by.
Blackburn makes his comeback after ankle trouble in tonight's Alliance game against Hunslet Hawks at Hilton Park, kick off 7.30pm.
Forwards Andy Pucill (groin) and Neil Jukes (knee) are again unlikely to figure when Leigh meet Prescot Panthers on Sunday.
