FUND-raising fire fighters have lost pounds to raise pounds during a sponsored walk in aid of the Macmillan Nurses.
Six officers from Hindley Fire Station walked from their base to Bolton Fire Station in full kit and breathing apparatus on June 9, raising £800 - and loosing 70lbs in weight between them in the process! Station commander Dave Bolton at Hindley Fire Station said: "We want to say a big thank to the people of Hindley, Westhoughton and Bolton, and to the businesses along the route who gave so generously and unfailingly. We couldn't have done it without you."
