BOLTON band Paranoise are turning the music world on its head with their highly original blend of songwriting and techno-rock.
Paranoise - effectively the songwriting partnership of Dave Beeson and Paul Auntie - have brought record company bosses scuttling up the M1 to Bolton in recent months and appear to be on the verge of being signed up.
If their career takes off it will be a result of something which would have been unthinkable a few years ago - before the explosion in the Manchester pop scene.
Paranoise actually moved to Bolton specifically to become successful in the music industry. Dave is originally from Newcastle and Paul comes from Canterbury.
Already they have been courted by Factory Records, the legendary Manchester record label, but the company is in a state of flux at the moment and cannot help them financially.
David said: "They've been to about seven of our gigs, including Anthony Wilson. They really like us and it's very encouraging.
"We do have a plan about the direction we want to go in, and we know how we aim to get there.
"It's important when you deal with people like this that they understand that you know what you want and what you are doing."
Paranoise were hailed as one of the 10 best unsigned bands in the UK by the New Musical Express and performed at the 1996 Brat Awards.
They now have a Manchester based manager and everything is looking rosy for the combo.
The band are currently regrouping for three showcase gigs, one of which will be in Bolton, but they have not finalised the venues or dates.
