A FORMER Wanderers' Goldline agent, who has collected more than £20,000 for the club, has been told he must now queue up for a season ticket like everyone else.
Fed-up Ian Cavill, 29, spent around eight hours a week during the past two and a half years collecting Wanderers' Goldline subscriptions from the Smithills area where he lives.
In return, the life-long Super Whites fan received a small commission and a complimentary ticket to matches.
But last week he gave up his weekly collections to become a residential social worker.
Ian said: "When I spoke to a ticket officer, he said I'd just have to queue up like everyone else.
"I'm not asking for a free a ticket, but after all the donkey work I've done for them, I thought at least I'd be given the same privileges as an existing season ticket holder. After all, I've made them more than ten times the value of a season ticket over the years."
When tickets for this season go on sale, Ian fears they will sell out before he gets one, because existing season ticket holders have priority in the allocation system.
"I want to get a ticket for the family stand, so I can take my two sons along," he said.
Wanderers commercial manager Terry Holland said that although there was no provision for Goldline agents to become season ticket holders, he appreciated the work Ian had done over the years and promised to look into the matter.
"We really do value everything our agents do for us," he said.
"They do a great job for us and we want to keep them. But we've got to have some guidelines and decisions like this can't be made overnight. But we will look into it."
