WIGAN prop Neil Cowie could be put on the transfer list after being sent home in disgrace,

The fiery Warriors forward was told to pack his bags six days early from the club's training camp in Coolangatta as a disciplinary measure.

The 30-year-old Cowie, who joined Wigan from Rochale six years ago, is said to have missed a training session as the team prepared for Sunday's Visa World Club Championship match against Canberra Raiders.

Wigan chairman Jack Robinson confirmed: "Neil Cowie is being sent home as a disciplinary measure."

Robinson declined to outline Cowie's indiscretion but said that coach Eric Hughes and chief executive David Bradshaw had kept him fully informed of events.

"They have the board's full support," said the chairman. "It shows that we are not afraid to hand out disciplinary measures.

"We won't stand for any hanky-panky and we're not prepared to sweep these things under the carpet. We take a serious view of it."

Robinson added that the Wigan board would consider what further action to take when the team returns after Sunday's match.

Hughes said: "All the players are paid to do a job and I expect 100 per cent committment."

Cowie's departure means that Terry O'Connor, who was involved in a nasty punch up with Gorden Tallis during the Broncos match, will be in the starting line-up for Sunday's final match against Canberra.

Stand-off Nigel Wright is ruled out with a groin injury and Hughes is expected to switch Henry Paul to the number six shirt, with Jason Robinson taking over at full-back.

The Warriors have done a deal with the ARL to keep Robinson at Central Park until the end of the season. The winger and Gary Connolly will be released to play for the Rest of the World against Australia on July 11.
