for Sunday clash WASIM Akram is set to return to lead Lancashire at Old Trafford as they bid to stay top of the Sunday League against Glamorgan tomorrow.
The Pakistan star is still struggling with his shoulder injury but coach Dav Whatmore said today: "We are missing our main captain Mike Watkinson and we want Wasim to come in and give us some leadership."
Whether Wasim bowls, however, is a different matter.
Last Sunday he took 2-18 in seven overs but his shoulder was so stiff afterwards he had to pull out of the Championship game against Glamorgan on Wednesday.
"I'm sure the team we pick for tomorrow will have him as the sixth bowler but the important thing is that he doesn't feel he needs to bowl," said Whatmore.
Lancashire will not decide on the eleven to play until tomorrow but with Watkinson and Jason Gallian out, Paddy McKeown and Darren Shadford seem certain to return with Andrew Flintoff, the England under 19 captain, also under consideration.
