to Sir James SIR: I doubt, in this century alone, that only a man of great courage and vigour should rise and oppose our long-established political parties by fielding 547 candidates at last May's election.
He informed us nationwide of the dangers of the E.U. juggernaut, by conferences, free videos, newspaper, full-page press revelations and booklets at his own expense; obliging both Labour and Tory Parties to offer referendums at the time, not to abandon our national sovereignty, without public consent..
This, Sir James Goldsmith achieved, at his own expense, while fighting cancer for four years. But after treatment in Paris, hw seeks to fight on, according to a Sunday newspaper report that he may join Dr Alan Sked and his U.K. Independence Party.
I feel many of us who have seen the spectre of Germanic domination arising once more, will thank and wish him and his Party well.
Mr J Wilkinson,
Fall Birch Road, Bolton.
