STOKE have joined Wanderers in the race to sign Peter Beardsley.
The managerless Division One club have offered the Newcastle star a chance to take the first step into management as player coach at the new Britannia Ground.
Beardsley now appears to have the choice of at least three jobs if he decides to quit Newcastle, where he still has a year left on his contract.
While Colin Todd waits for his answer, the 36-year-old former England star has also been touted as a future player-manager at Hull City, where a business consortium has launched a takeover bid.
