A YOUNG boy who was heartbroken when his motorbike was stolen is now jumping for joy.
Liam Harris, aged five, can ride his Yamaha off-road motorcycle again after his dad, Michael, spotted it, purely by chance.
Mr Harris, 35, took Liam out at the weekend to ride his new bike, bought to replace the stolen one.
And while they were on the track at Eccles, Mr Harris spotted the stolen bike.
He called the police and the bike was handed over to Mr Harris, much to the delight of the whole family.
Liam's mum, 33-year-old Elaine, said she was "thrilled to bits" to have the bike back. And now she must decide what to do with Liam's newly bought bike. "He is so pleased to have his old bike back that he only wants to ride that one. We will probably sell the other one."
The bike was taken in May after it had been stored in a locked ginnel at the family home in The Crescent, Westhoughton.
Mrs Harris said it was "purely by chance" that Liam had got his bike back.
"They could have gone out to any track, but chose to go to Eccles. Michael couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the bike."
