SIR: How is it that planning permission has been given for the Raikes Lane Incinerator, and we still do not know the contents of the soil samples being taken locally?
If, according to HMIP's figures, it has been spewing out around 60 times the level of dioxins permitted by Holland, and it has been closed down for breaching permitted standards, how on earth are we to know what is already in our soils? Do people not really care about the environment?
