GREAT Britain academy hooker Ian Talbot looks set for his first team debut as Wigan Warriors return to domestic action on Sunday.
Martin Hall could be out for six weeks with a broken thumb and coach Eric Hughes feels that the home clash against Sheffield Eagles is the ideal time to blood the Alliance team captain.
He said: "He has been going well all year and went on the Academy tour. I haven't made my mind up yet but I think it is time to give him a little dabble and see if he is ready for first team rugby."
Wigan and Sheffield were the only two British sides to win a World Club Championship game and Hughes believes the competition will be of benefit to his side and to the European clubs.
"I am sure Wigan will benefit from being in Australia. Sheffield have advantage of having stayed at home and been able to prepare better, but we are confidant we can take the two points."
Wigan will be without Nigel Wright, who is still suffering from a groin strain, but is expected to be available next week. Bad boy Neil Cowie, who was sent home early from Australia because he didn't turn up for a training session, will miss the game through injury.
