SIR: I write concerning the proposed erection of a business park at Singing Clough, Kearsley, and link road to Lyons Estate (which incidentally should never have been built without access roads).

This project should in no way be considered viable and I object most strongly. I live within 30 metres of traffic lights on the Stoneclough/Bolton Road junction. All vehicles, large and small, vibrate my home 24 hours a day and there is a continual queue from the motorway. Crossing the road for pedestrians is practically non-existent; only try at your peril.

The amount of lorry traffic would increase substantially. There are far too many now. Also, the proposed 300 jobs increase is just a softener. The increase in traffic for these would be approximately 200 cars from outside of Kearsley, and lorries from far and wide.

Kearsley is basically a one major road village, with no fields left.

I must reiterate that I object most strongly and, as for there being another lorry park in the village of Kearsley, that is deplorable and environmentally insane.

You may also be aware that the new Labour government want to stop goods being transported by road, in favour of rail.
