I see this lady with dignified air,
Traversing the road in her mechanised chair
I know not her name nor her disorder
But seeing her smile, can only applaud her
Such bravery is given to only a few
Who in their distress, independence pursue
The laughter and cheer they give to others
Smites our conscience with guilt that lingers
As opportunity slips through our fingers
Being rescued from our selfishness and greed
With no commitment we are relieved
But are still haunted by those in need. I Platt
