BOLTON Wanderers have new rivals in Manchester City for the title of best dressed club.
The Maine Road club unveiled their new strips and leisurewear collection designed and manufactured by top Italian fashionwear company Kappa yesterday.
City have severed a 60-year connection with local manufacturers Umbro to strike up a £5million deal with Kappa which is currently the most popular label among fashion-conscious youngsters.
Blues chairman Francis Lee believes his club is pioneering the idea of linking football club merchandising with a top fashion brand.
Wanderers fans would argue they have been the most fashionable supporters in recent years through their club's enviable sponsorship deal with giant sportswear firm Reebok.
City, who also unveiled a new club crest yesterday incorporating the crest of Manchester, are now hoping to cash in on the move as fans get ready to snap up the fashionable merchandise.
And manager Frank Clarke joked there could be another benefit, saying: "According to what we have read they are going to make it virtually impossible to get into the Premier League with what you do on the pitch, so we are going to try and get there by being the best dressed team.
