A PASSING police patrol saved a school from burning down after a milk crate was pushed up against a door and set alight.
The vandals started the fire outside Wolfenden Primary School, Halliwell but the police alert saved the building from serious damage. Fire crews confined damage to the external door. A fire spokesman said: "It was spotted just in time."
