SIR: The HGV traffic problem on Pilkington Road and Springfield Road, Kearsley arose when the Ministry of Transport built the M61 and A666 spur in the late 1960s. This isolated land, designated industrial, became the Lyon Industrial Estate. The only way to it was through a housing estate, or over a railway bridge built across the M61 and out to a main road through an industrial estate.
The Ministry of Transport must be asked, or told, to solve the problem it created in 1966. All that is needed is the concern for ordinary people and the traffic they have to endure, due to their actions some 30 years ago,
