THREE Wigan Warriors players could face disciplinary proceedings following alleged drunken behaviour on the flight home from Australia.

The three players, who are belived to be Gary Connolly, Martin Hall and Craig Murdock, were described as "loud" and "raucous" on the plane, causing a distraction to other passengers.

The squad was returning home after its three-game stint Down Under in the inaugural World Club Championships.

Wigan chairman Jack Robinson admitted: "Three of the lads had a few drinks on the flight back and I believe they acted in a loud manner.

"We will talk with coach Eric Hughes and our Chief Executive Dave Bradshaw before passing any judgments at tonight's board meeting."

Mr Bradshaw, who was on the plane, added: "They did behave in a raucous fashion on the leg between Singapore and Manchester.

"These players will be dealt with at the next board meeting."

Meanwhile, Wigan are continuing talks with Great Britain winger Jason Robinson to secure his long-term future.

Jack Robinson admitted a four-year deal had been put on the table to the 22 year old flyer.

But any agreement depends on the outcome of the ARL and Super League proposed settlement. If the two Australian factions can come together, then Robinson will be freed to negotiate the deal with Wigan.

Mr Robinson said: "Jason has already agreed to stay until the end of the season and has stated he wants to stay here in the long run.

"Negotiations are on-going, but a lot depends on the ARL and Super League settling their differences."

The Warriors and Great Britain skipper Andy Farrell is also another player in contract talks. The Central Park club want to extend his current deal, which has still three years to run, until well into the next century. SHEFFIELD EAGLES have re-opened negotiations for OLDHAM BEARS forward David Bradbury who failed to win free agent status at a meeting of the Rugby League tribunal on Friday.

The Eagles had started talks with Oldham several weeks ago but shelved them pending the outcome of the inquiry into the club-player contractual dispute. Atherton rugby league star David Bradbury could yet get his move from Oldham to Sheffield Eagles.

The Yorkshire club have re-opened negotiations for the Bears forward who failed to win free agent status at a meeting of the Rugby League tribunal on Friday.

The Eagles had started talks with Oldham several weeks ago but shelved them pending the outcome of the inquiry into the club-player contractual dispute.

They have made it clear that they will sign 25-year-old Bradbury within the next few days - or not at all.

He is listed at £200,000 but Oldham were told by the league to make every effort to push a transfer through or face the risk of Bradbury taking the case back to tribunal for an independent panel to settle the fee.
