SIR: We are strongly against the building of both the road and the erection of a business park on the Singing Clough field.
We live in the second house after the Kearsley roundabout. At the side being the motorway. At peak times now the traffic is at a stand still with so very little movement for a good two hours at a time there is a build up of fumes, dust and grime that is beyond belief. It has increased a lot, especially in the last two or three years or so.
We have an eight-year-old son who already has asthma (but is fine when away from the traffic on holiday or in the country) So another road would make the traffic worse all around us. Our children will have nowhere to play. The field is now our one and only asset.
So please don't take that away from us too. We also think it is very unfair to the young children who have to go to Kearsley West CP. A lot will have to cross the road another added danger for them. Also the increase in fumes that will become worse because of even more traffic being unable to move will affect them too. It's also a bad idea to surround George Tomlinson's School with works.
Also lots of units round and about are not being used e g Worsley Road. So what is the point in building even more? Also parking would become a big problem at the rear of our house. As you are probably aware, we cannot park our cars at the front of our house because of the yellow lines). The back is our only access.
