A SCHOOL where pupils show an early and sustained interest in learning has won the praise of Government inspectors.

Mytham County Primary School, Little Lever, is praised for its commitment to pupils and high levels of teaching.

The pupils' good behaviour is highlighted on several occasions by the OFSTED team and its strong links with the community are praised.

To improve standards further the school has been advised to build on current good practice and an action plan to develop information technology has been prepared.

Mr William Earnshaw, chairman of the governing body, said: "The OFSTED inspection has confirmed what we already knew about Mytham; it is a good school.

"This has been achieved by everyone connected with the school, the children, parents, staff and governors, whose hard work and commitment have made the school into the success it is today," he added.
