MANCHESTER'S Made in India Show is being held at Manchester Velodrome from Thursday, July 10 to 13.
The free event is aimed at identifying business opportunities in India.
It is being organised by the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industry, in conjunction with the India Research and Development Unit.
The guests of honour on the opening day will be Lord Clinton-Davis, Minister for Trade and Murasoli Maran, Minister of Industry for the Government of India.
There will be 50 different exhibitors from a variety of industrial sectors. Automobile and automotive products will have a major presence, as will building material and sanitaryware companies.
Other sectors represented include consumer durables, dyes and moulds, furnishings and footwear and leather products.
A seminar to be held in conjunction with the exhibition will be held between 9am and 1pm at Manchester Business School on Friday, July 11.
Speakers will include Dr Sengupta, Director General of the International Managemednt Institute in Delhi and Mick McInnes of the DTI's South Asia desk.
Topics to be discussed will include an overview of Indian industry, policy reform issues in India, the Indian automobile industry, joint ventures in India and how to finance business there.
"India is amongst the top ten most industrialised nations in the world," said MCCI's Head of International, Lynn Shaw. "Opportunities exist in every sector and this seminar is the first step in identifying them and exploiting them."
