SIR: I refer to the publicity in the BEN about Zack, the dog sentenced to death by the magistrates.
While we are not in possession of the full facts we would certainly, as a small charity, give our full support if the National Canine Defence League, the RSPCA and other animal charities would look into this case. Have they all been approached? If this dog is innocent then we should all give it our full support including the veterinary profession who will have to destroy Zack.
If the family of the child concerned do not wish Zack to be destroyed who brought the charges in the first place?
It does appear to be a senseless decision. Are the magistrates aware of the new law?
