LOOKING for a new job? Let Job Hunter do the work for you.
Going live on the internet today, Job Hunter is an innovative, interactive web site launched by the UK's regional press.
Following the successful Auto Hunter, Job Hunter is the second site to be launched by ADHunter UK Ltd. It is set to become the UK's largest situations vacant internet site, with up to 80,000 jobs to go live on the site each week.
Users of the web site - at www.jobhunter.co.uk - will be able to:
Quickly access job vacancies contributed by more than 600 regional newspapers across the UK.
Search for the job they want locally, regionally or nationally, depending on how far they want to travel.
View company profiles, whose credentials will be included within listings on the site, enabling users to contact companies direct in a chosen industry within the geographic areas requested. Skill shortages will be identified by companies, enabling applicants to quickly identify companies seeking their skills.
Benefit from advice on compiling a winning CV; helpful interview advice and regularly updated news about the job market for those searching for a new job or career.
A technologically advanced, intelligent agent, Smart Search function enables users seeking a particular job to register the details. The programme searches new jobs added to the database daily, then e-mails suitable matches to the user each day.
So advanced is the Job Hunter Smart Search function that it will even recognise that someone searching for a managing director's position will also want to see vacancies for general managers, chief executives etc. A search for a secretary will include within the lists returned similar titles such as PA.
Marlen Roberts, managing director of ADHunter UK Ltd, said: "The range and sheer number of vacancies carried by the regional press when combined, creates a database that will be very difficult for any other internet site provider to match.
"The site will be backed by a million pound advertising campaign throughout the UK ensuring that Job Hunter becomes a household name."
ADHunter UK Ltd is launching a series of new sites throughout 1997. The company, created by seven of Britain's leading regional newspaper groups, including Newsquest Media Group, the owner of the Chorley Citizen, is increasing its size through the introduction of additional subscriber newspaper groups.
The new site follows hot on the heels of the successful launch of Auto Hunter which went live in March. Property Hunter follows at the end of September.
