THE massed voices of 1,400 music-loving children raised the roof to raise funds for Bolton Hospice during its 5th anniversary celebrations.
The youngsters, all pupils at Bolton junior schools, joined together in song to cut a Compact Disc.
The recording took place in the superb acoustics of the Victoria Hall, in Knowsley Street, Bolton.
Putting the singers through their paces were conductors Jane Hampson and Susan Wilding and accompanying the children were bands from St Joseph's School in Horwich and Canon Slade School, Bradshaw.
Among the songs the choir performed was Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's "When Children Rule the World."
The CD will be available from record shops throughout the country from October.
