DEFIANT staff at a school plundered by thieves have vowed that their summer fair will go ahead this weekend.
Staff and pupils at St Andrew's School on Prescott Street, Little Hulton, were left reeling by multiple break-ins which robbed them of a huge selection of goodies collected for tombolas and other stalls. As reported in last night's BEN, even the school pets were stolen.
But despite the massive setback, the fair on Saturday at the school, will go ahead.
School clerk, Jan Shepley, said: "We are going ahead all guns blazing. We are hoping parents will rally round.
"Stuff is slowly coming in and we have had quite a few donations from parents, so we are hopeful we will be able to overcome the thefts."
School Governor, Janet Williams, added: "We could not cancel the fair because we have things booked. For instance we have booked a bouncy castle and the police will also be making an appearance."
The fair runs from 1pm to 4pm, and anyone who would like to donate goods should telephone 0161 790 3194.
