AN urgent alert has been issued after reports of a bogus health visitor on a Little Hulton estate.
In one incident, the woman struck at a house in Aspinall Crescent and asked to see the family's baby.
The baby's mother was suspicious because she did not recognise the woman and she did not have any form of identification.
Today, Little Hulton police have issued the alert because of a number of sightings of the woman in other streets in the area.
Supt Peter Morris said: "At a community meeting last night, it emerged that a woman fitting her description has been seen on various occasions in the last few days.
"I would urge anyone who knows anything about this woman to contact us. I also want to remind parents to be extremely wary of anyone who comes to their door wanting to examine their children."
The woman, who calls herself Natalie, is white, 5ft 4ins, aged 30, medium build with jet black tight curly hair and a wide nose. She has an unusual accent which could be Geordie. Anyone with information should call police on 0161 872 5050.
