SIR: I reply to the three Kearsley councillors and others.
Looking through my records, I ask myself what have Mr Burrows, Mrs Keating and Mrs Spencer ever done to enhance Kearsley, apart from the odd swings and roundabouts - and industrial estates?
Answer: We have a great big tank, an eyesore on the main Manchester to Bolton road near the Antelope pub; a large chimney which has telephone communication on it at the Black Horse area, blocking out our skyline and TV reception; the Lyons Industrial Estate pouring out smoke over our school and the Springfield Road and Waverley Avenue residents who, incidentally, are asking me to do something about it as our councils won't. Other councillors have passed an incinerator at Raikes Lane area pouring out everything - it seems to be they are wanting to poison us all.
I am also aware of all walks in Farnworth and Kearsley and am aware that Salford has spent the money on developing Clifton Marina. Salford has developed Black Leach Country Park not Bolton. They only develop Bolton Centre with the outskirts down for industry/retail outlets. If you really want to help the people and future children of Kearsley - develop Singing Clough as a continuation of Black Leach Country Park as it was promised originally.
Regarding your caustic comments about cars, they have been cut down by 50 per cent.
