RESTLESS sleepers at a Bolton hotel will be in for a sound night's kip - thanks to a herbal cuppa! Managers at the town's Forte Posthouse hotel have taken on board findings in a new report on insomnia which found that herbal concoctions can help people nod off. Now herbal teabags will be available in all the Beaumont Road hotel's rooms to give insomniac guests an alternative to counting sheep.
The herbal help comes after the Posthouse, Bolton, took part in the new report, Pillow Talk, which has just been published.
It reveals that 20 per cent of women and five per cent of men suffer chronic insomnia.
Richard Murcott, regional general manager for the hotel, said: "We want people to get the maximum enjoyment and value for their stay and helping people to relax and get a good night's sleep is imperative.
"The report shows that in common with the rest of the country, sleeplessness is a problem which has been underestimated." And the hotel company is also to redesign its bedrooms - in line with the report's findings - over the next three years to help light sleepers snore the night away.
The new "sleep conducive" bedrooms will include larger beds, duvets, sofas, work areas, shutters, soft lighting, warm natural colours and interesting artwork on the walls. Mr Murcott added: "It's been a useful benchmark for the hotel and has helped us to understand more about our guests and ways of overcoming any sleep problems they may have.
"Our new bedrooms will provide a soothing environment that we hope will lull people off to sleep naturally."
