SIR: When I read your guide to good eating in Bolton on February 19, 1998, I was somewhat amazed and disappointed not to find a mention anywhere of 'Michael's Brasserie' on Crown street, off Deansgate.
Michaels has recently been elected Lancashire Life Newcomer of the year (November,1997). Both Michael and the restaurant manager Shirley go out of their way to ensure the highest culinary standards in preparation, presentation and quality are maintained. ?
I am most disappointed you omitted this, Bolton's 'hidden gem'. Do us all a favour, feature it and include it in your good food guide sooner rather than later.

Editor's Note: Restaurants highlighted were those which had featured in the Eating Out Column during 1997. Michael's Brasserie was reviewed the previous year and has, in fact, been mentioned elsewhere in the BEN relating to his award.
