KINDNESS shown by BEN readers towards Bolton boy Tom Molyneux continues to touch the hearts of his family. Tom is seriously ill and is to undergo a life-saving bone marrow transplant. As reported in Monday's paper, Farnworth's Cherry Tree Morris Dancers raised £42 on the spur of the moment as they took part in a contest.
And Buckingham Bingo Club patrons at Walkden threw money into a bucket after reading in Saturday's BEN how 18-year-old Lee Molyneux is to be the donor of matching bone marrow to try and save the life of his kid brother, aged five.
Other bingo players and staff have since boosted the total to £472 and have bought Tom, of Hibernia Street, Deane, a TV, video recorder and Nintendo game to take during his long stay in hospital, which begins later this month.
They were handed over to Tom at the bingo hall this week by manager Ann Gee.
Another fund raising event is planned for March 29 on St James's School field, Farnworth, when the bingo team, the Cherry Tree Morris Dancers and other supporters plan a fund-raising fun day.
