SIR: For a large town, Bolton must have the least number of public toilets in the North! Years ago, there used to be a very convenient one on the Town Hall Square which, for reasons best known to the nabobs in the Town Hall, was closed down. Not long ago, the well-used Bridge Street toilets were closed. Now the latest main road toilets to have gone under the axe are the ones in Nelson Square on busy Bradshawgate!
What is the town council playing at? The only town centre lavatories seem to be up little, obscure side streets that nobody has ever heard of! When strangers to the town stop me to ask where the toilets are, I am at a loss! I think it is a disgrace that a large town like Bolton should be so lacking in instantly recognisable (and very necessary) facilities of this nature.
