FOOTBALL isn't just a funny old game; sometimes, it's downright cruel, both on and off the pitch. The resignation of local lad Francis Lee as chairman of Manchester City simply proves it.
A brilliant footballer in his day, he became a highly successful businessman and was hailed as a saviour when he became club chairman four years ago.
But, ultimately, it's results that count. And no-one, not even Lee, should be surprised when the person held accountable is the man at the top.
