They said things would get better - so why have they got worse?
We thought we would be happier, when all we do is curse.
They promised early pledges before Election Day
But seem to have forgotten them, somewhere along the way.
The Health Service they promised would get better overnight
So why are all the patients in such a sorry plight?
There're waiting lists that lengthen with every passing day,
Prescription charges rising and worse to come, they say.
The interest rate has risen seven times within a year,
With students, single mothers and the elderly in fear.
They're spending taxpayers' money to decorate their homes
While most of us are paying bigger mortgages and loans.
They criticised the Tories for all they said and did,
Who does the Labour Party think they're trying to kid.
So come the next election day I know what I will do,
I'll vote these Labour people out and hope that you will too. By Mrs C L Sharp
