A MAN who was seriously injured in a road crash which killed one teenager and injured another remains in the intensive care unit of Bury General Hospital.
Duane Partington, 21, of Ramsbottom, suffered head injuries and broken bones after his Vauxhall Cavalier crashed into a wall as it was being followed by police late on Friday night. He has been heavily sedated and undergoes further surgery on his legs this evening.
Stuart Marshall, 19, of Peel Brow, Ramsbottom, was a back seat passenger in the car and died from his injuries. His girlfriend, front seat passenger Frances Ireland, 18, of Cross Lane, Holcombe, suffered head injuries, and has since been released from hospital.
Duane's father John said: "I was with him last night and he came round a bit, but I don't know if he recognised anyone. He moved one of his arms, which the nurses said was good news." Staff at Bury General described Duane's condition as "poorly but stable."
