UP to 95 jobs are to go at Whitefield company Manchester Circuits, which announced the closure of its Victoria Lane premises this week.

But company bosses hope a significant number of staff will be relocated to a sister company in Tamworth, Staffordshire, or other sites in Scotland and Newcastle.

The decision to close the factory, which produces hi-tech printed circuit boards, was made by Viasystems Group, who became owners of the Whitefield company in March last year.
