PRESTWICH-based Mental Health Services of Salford NHS Trust has been recognised as an Investor in People.
The Trust, established in 1994, is one of the leading providers on mental health services in the UK, and has two major areas of service provision. The first is extensively for locally-based services for the City of Salford, which includes community care for people aged 16-65 with mental health problems. The Trust also looks after in-patient services at Hope Hospital.
Secondly, the Trust offers treatment for alcohol addiction, drug dependency, psychotherapy and employs over 1,600 staff in medical, nursing and administrative staff of whom 43 per cent are part-time.
The Investors in People process at Mental Health Services was led by Marion Foster (director of personnel) and backed by chief executive Peter Clarke and the non-executive chairman Eileen Fairhurst.
Andrew Haydeman, head of workforce development at Bolton Bury TEC which helped the Trust gain recognition, said: "This is excellent news for the Trust and its staff. It been achieved by hard work from a huge number of dedicated professionals who offer an invaluable service to many people."
