BEAUTY salon owner Jonathan Leech is having his first real haircut for 19 years next week - to raise money for charity.
And he's more worried about shedding his shoulder-length dark blonde locks than he is about getting married to fiancee Joanna Adams in three weeks' time!
The 31-year-old behind The Touch With Class on Plodder Lane, Farnworth, decided on this rare cut to help special care babies at Bolton's Princess Anne Maternity Unit.
"I've been threatening to have my hair cut short for the past two years, but I finally decided to commit myself to it for charity," explained Jonathan.
"My dad put a pudding basin round my head and cut my hair when I was 12. I hated it, and I've let it grow ever since," he added.
In fact, his long hair has become something of a trademark for Jonathan, and he is known by the hairdressers in the adjoining salon as "possessive" about it.
Consequently, the stylists were not too keen on doing the dirty deed in case his reaction proved over the top. Only the brave Nicola Glynn has offered to wield the scissors.
Now, he's busy collecting sponsors to help him in his "hair today, gone tomorrow" stunt.
Anyone who would like to support Jonathan's fund-raising can contact him at the salon on 01204-707919.
