ICE maiden Jade Martin is set to become hot stuff in the skating world after picking up a top award.
And according to her mother, the little Chorley star won't be happy until she's wearing an Olympic gold medal.
Jade, just 11, recently topped the tree in a major national competition at Bradford, winning a junior trophy against more than 20 other competitors.
It's not the first time the Sacred Heart pupil has won honours - she's also been placed second and third in other national tournaments.
Mum Alison, of Worthy Street, Chorley, revealed the secret of her daughter's success: "Jade is very dedicated. She gets up at 5am for her training at Blackburn Arena and practices hard.
"Her coaches are Karen Barber, the former European champion, and three-times British champion Stephen Pickervance, so she's got the best possible training.
"We're really proud of her. She's quite a shy girl off the ice, but you have to be a little bit of an extrovert so she's different when she pulls the skates on.
"She loves it and wants to be a professional figure skater eventually. But I think her goal is to enter the Olympics - and maybe one day win a gold medal!"
