FENCING around a dangerous industrial site in Horwich which blew down two months ago has been repaired.
A large section of the fence around the former Horwich loco works fell over during gales on Christmas Eve.
Bernard Perrin, manager for owner Salford-based Combined Property Control, said the fence hadn't been fixed earlier because of other urgent jobs on the site caused by the gales, including roofs which had been badly damaged.
But now the security guards on Horwich Business Park next to land owned by Combined Property Controls say even with the fence back up, yobbos and drug addicts will get on to the site.
They say the vandals throw stones at the windows of a large derelict factory and even start fires and climb on the roof to steal lead.
Horwich Business Park has CCTV cameras and 24-hour security.
But the security does not extend to the land owned by Combined Property Controls.
Security guard Toni Gilfillan said: "Kids are always getting on.
"We don't want the residents in Horwich to think we don't do our jobs, but we are not responsible for that side of the site."
Mr Perrin said: "We have tried everything but nothing has worked. There are 101 ways you can get in."
