WHAT a nasty incident that was when Liverpool yobs spat on young Wanderers' fans and peppered them with coins.

It happened when members of Bolton Junior Whites travelled to Anfield to watch Bolton play in the North-west derby.

To their credit Liverpool Football Club are taking complaints seriously and have started an investigation into the incidents. We hope they identify the louts who behaved so badly. But even if they don't, officials should roundly condemn such behaviour.

Young people, and older ones for that matter, now expect and demand good behaviour at games. Anything which smacks of yobbism should be stamped on immediately.
