SIR: I would like to say a word or two to the powers-that-be ie Bolton Council, City Challenge etc. Now that grants are being given for Rawthorne Street, the Boardman Street fields are being made into walk-ways and basket ball areas. Also there is some activity on the field adjacent to Wolfenden Centre. What is to happen to the elderly people's flats? Shame on the council. We are nearly all retired tenants and we deserve better. We stick out like a sore thumb. The Brownlow fold area has had a face lift.
The derelict precinct has come into new life, with new houses, the Tennyson Street flats are a credit to all involved . But come across to the Wolfenden Street flats and see the difference.
We used our vote to get the council in, we can us it to get them out if need be. What a way to treat the elderly.
Fed Up resident.
