FREE computer 'taster' sessions are to be held at Bolton College's Excel centre to help people clueless about computer technology become tomorrow's technology whiz-kids.
Budding computer buffs from Monday will be able to book a one-hour introduction to personal computers and the internet- even if they have never even been near a keyboard before.
People will also be able to apply for their European Computer "Driving Licence" which records an individual's computer competence and allows employers to check whether the employee is safe left in charge of a computer!
Janet Peers, Computing and IT Co-ordinator at Bolton College, said: "Information Technology has now become an essential tool, similar to the car in many respects, so it makes good sense to have a computer driving licence."
Help and advice will be on hand at the sessions and those wanting to carry on their learning will have the chance to sign-up for further courses in the field of leisure, business and qualification gaining.
