SIR: While it is good to see new vehicles with improved accessibility being introduced by First Bus (subsidised, of course, by we Bolton council taxpayers via Greater Manchester PTE), why do their new buses merely carry the name "Manchester" on the side?
Surely it is entirely inappropriate in the large towns where their depots are situated to have the name of someone else's city emblazoned on local public transport.
First Bus manages to maintain separate local identities in Yorkshire and the Clyde conurbation, so why do we have "Manchester" foisted on us?
