A BOLTON mum has given her teenage daughter's modelling career her full support - by posing topless with her. Page three stunner Rachel Travers, 19, has been hitting the headlines since she launched herself into the world of glamour modelling. And now the Breightmet teenager's mum, Christine, has shown just how much she approves of her daughter's line of work by posing alongside her.
Yesterday a series of saucy snaps appeared in a national newspaper's centrespread showing both Rachel and Christine in topless poses.
And both women say they are pleased with their afternoon's work. Chris, 41, whose husband Mel owns a chip shop on Chorley Old Road, joked that she had been conned into the modelling session.
She laughed: "I'd been told that there were other mums lined up as well but when we got the paper there was only me and Rachel in it.
"I don't really mind though and it shows how much I support what Rachel does.
"I hadn't told my mum I was in the paper but I told her there were pictures of Rachel. When she saw it she had to ask if it was me as well but she has not got a problem with them."
Rachel, who now lives in Radcliffe, said: "It was quite embarrassing for both of us but after all she'd said in support of me she didn't really have a choice.
"I think she looks really good in the photographs and it's something to be proud of.
"It was a bit of a rush job because we did the shoot on Friday.
"My mum wanted to nip into a pub before we did the photographs but there was no way I was letting that happen. She was only nervous when the shoot started but she's done really well. What my mum wants to stress is that she supports what I'm doing and this is the best way to show people."
And Rachel's dad, Mel, 41, of Barnacre Avenue, Breightmet, joked that there will be a treat in store for customers at his chippy: "I'll make sure that I wrap everyone's chips up in copies of the newspaper next week!"
