AMBITIOUS Bury are set to complete Gigg Lane's all-seater redevelopment next year.
The Shakers have submitted plans to replace the standing Cemetery End enclosure with a modern seated structure.
The single tier stand will be identical to the South Stand which it will join up with, filling in the huge gap which currently exists and enhancing the stadium's atmosphere.
It is the second proposal Bury have drawn up after the original plan was scrapped because it would have forced a reduction in Gigg Lane's capacity from 12,000 to 10,000.
If planners give the scheme the go-ahead Bury will then put forward an application for a grant from the Football Trust which is currently being re-vamped.
The Cemetery End will follow the South Stand, Main Stand and Manchester Road End in being redeveloped into modern all-seater stands and give the club a stadium to be proud of.
Chairman Terry Robinson said: "With our first plan the capacity would have had to be reduced which we weren't happy about.
"So we put an alternative scheme forward because our aim is to try to maintain the existing capacity but be all seater.
"We have had two nearly full houses this season so we want to keep the capacity up and First Division club have to be seater the season after next and that's where we want to be."
