AIR Mauritius says flight times between Manchester and Mauritiius will be cut by two hours when the service becomes non-stop from March 30.
The airline plans to offer fares for both business and economy travel. Raj Chellum, Air Mauritius' Regional Manager, UK and Ireland, said: "The route has seen steady growth since it began in April, 1996 and we are confident that this is the right time to move to a non-stop service using a Boeing 767-200ER aircraft."
Manchester Airport Chief Executive said: "We look forward to watching the route go from strength to strength over the coming years."
