SIR: Writing as someone who has lived in Bolton all my life (nearly 23 years) I have to say that compared to Leeds, Bolton has very little to offer. Leeds has a larger, more exclusive shopping centre with individual shops as well as chains. Bolton council killed off the individual businesses years ago with its extravagant rents. Leeds has much more to offer in the way of cheaper car parking facilities and is altogether a more cosmopolitan centre than the likes of Bolton. The tourist board are going to have to work rather hard to bring people to "The market town on the moors".
