WHAT on earth are Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive, Railtrack and North Western Trains playing at? The three have pledged to work together to improve facilities at the long-waited overspill car park at Lostock station.
But they seem to be dragging their feet to such an extent that British Rail, who own the land, have approved a move which could see houses erected on the land earmarked for the car park. British Rail are clearly fed up of waiting for a firm offer. No wonder. No-one has been in touch with them since last June.
Ruth Kelly MP is going to contact all the parties involved reminding them of the promises made last year and urging them to resolve the problem as a matter of urgency.
They should not need any reminder, but we hope, nevertheless, that it does the trick. There is a daily, and dangerous, parking problem in the Lostock area which needs sorting out immediately.
