Wanderers Reserves 1, Huddersfield Reserves 3 WANDERERS Reserves went down 3-1 to relegation threatened Huddersfield Town at Hilton Park last night.

Everything seemed to be rosy for Bolton who started brightly and took a deserved 11th minute lead through Peter Morrison.

Scott Taylor made a determined run at goal from 45 yards out. His pace took him past the visitors defence and he got in a powerful shot that Steve Francis could only parry into the path of Morrison who shot high into the net.

Taylor was unlucky not to increase the Wanderers lead in the 27th minute when Nicky Spooner and Lee Potter combined down the right to set him up. He turned a defender but saw his shot go inches past the post.

It all started to go wrong for Bolton on the stroke of half time. Ian Lawson had the simple job of heading into an empty net after Gavin Ward had collided with an opponent to set up Town's equaliser.

Ten minutes into the second half Alex Smith converted a penalty to give Huddersfield the lead, the referee ruling that Nicky Spooner had been guilty of pushing.

Smith notched his second in the 90th minute with a close range header to kill any hopes Bolton had of snatching a point.

Team: Ward, Spooner, Aljofree, O'Malley, Whitehead, Holden, Corrigan (Dawson), Doherty, Potter (Trueman), Taylor, Morrison (Sexton).
