LOTTERY grants totalling nearly £400,000 were announced for projects in BURY today.
Bury Metro Council for Voluntary Service will use £246,780 to set up a community furniture recycling service for people who have been homeless.
And the Rachel House Trust for homeless young people receives £149,664 to build a community room and flat at their site off Rochdale Old Road.
In LITTLE HULTON, the Cleggs Lane Community Nursery and training Centre Ltd gets a grant of £148,090 for training facilities and nursery provision for single parents and low income families.
In LOWTON, the Add A Voice group receives a grant of £162,619. The group provides training, information and support to more than 50 voluntary groups in the Wigan area.
A Salford-based charity started by a Bolton man has received a £100,000 boost. The Brain and Spinal Injury Charity (BASIC), started by Lostock man Derek Gaskell, will set up a neurological resource centre for patients and charities.
