A NEW fact-packed information booklet for young people has just been launched in Bury called 'What Now 98.'

The free 116 page book covers everything from education to employment and training, Europe, family and relationships, to health, housing justice and equality, money, sport, leisure and travel.

And there is a section full of useful telephone numbers.

The book is targeted at year 11 pupils and 8,000 copies are available through schools, youth centres and libraries.

Youth Issues sub-committee chairman, Cllr David Neath said: "The book was compiled following detailed consultation with young people.

"They decided the kind of things which needed to be included or which they thought could be particularly handy for school leavers. It compliments nicely the region-wide 'What Now?' freephone service on 0800 511111."

Anyone struggling to get their hands on a copy should call in at Athenaeum House, Market Street, Bury; or call 0161 253 6545 for more details.
